India sealed a series victory against New Zealand in Guwahati after a combined effort that started with disciplined bowling and ended with a blistering chase. India’s attack restricted New Zealand to 153 for 9, a total that proved below par given the surface and the earlier tone of the series.
In response, Abhishek Sharma and captain Suryakumar Yadav produced an explosive partnership that reduced the match to a sprint. Suryakumar’s acceleration and a chase that never slowed
Suryakumar Yadav stayed unbeaten on 57 off 26 balls, striking six fours and three sixes as India maintained relentless scoring. Even after an early wicket, the chase did not lose momentum, and the captain’s timing through the middle ensured there was no window for New Zealand to regroup.
The match reinforced India’s ability to adjust: after two high-scoring games earlier in the series, the Guwahati contest began with a stronger bowling blueprint and ended with a batting onslaught. The result delivered the series in front of a full house and kept India’s T20 rhythm firmly in control.
