According to News on AIR (Prasar Bharati), Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat inaugurated the six-day event. During the inauguration, Birla said the festival would help strengthen India’s cultural heritage and offer visitors a view of traditions from different states and regions.
The festival’s format is designed to be both celebratory and civic-minded, linking cultural showcases with an emphasis on the constitutional framework. Birla highlighted the Constitution’s core ideas—justice, liberty, equality and fraternity—while speaking about the role of national festivals in building unity and shared identity.
